1여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
2이스라엘 자손의 원수를 미디안에게 갚으라 그 후에 네가 네 조상에게로 돌아가리라
Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.
3모세가 백성에게 일러 가로되 너희 중에서 사람을 택하여 싸움에 나갈 준비를 시키고 미디안을 치러 보내어서 여호와의 원수를 미디안에게 갚되
And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm ye men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian, to execute Jehovah's vengeance on Midian.
4이스라엘 모든 지파에 대하여 각 지파에서 일천 인씩을 싸움에 보낼지니라 하매
Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
5매 지파에서 일천 인씩 이스라엘 천만 인 중에서 일만 이천 인을 택하여 무장을 시킨지라
So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6모세가 매 지파에 일천 인씩 싸움에 보내되 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스에게 성소의 기구와 신호 나팔을 들려서 그들과 함께 싸움에 보내매
And Moses sent them, a thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7그들이 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 미디안을 쳐서 그 남자를 다 죽였고
And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah commanded Moses; and they slew every male.
8그 죽인 자 외에 미디안의 다섯 왕을 죽였으니 미디안의 왕들은 에위와 레겜과 수르와 후르와 레바이며 또 브올의 아들 발람을 칼로 죽였더라
And they slew the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
9이스라엘 자손이 미디안의 부녀들과 그 아이들을 사로잡고 그 가축과 양떼와 재물을 다 탈취하고
And the children of Israel took captive the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took for a prey.
10그 거처하는 성읍들과 촌락을 다 불사르고
And all their cities in the places wherein they dwelt, and all their encampments, they burnt with fire.
11탈취한 것, 노략한 것, 사람과 짐승을 다 취하니라
And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of man and of beast.
12그들이 사로잡은 자와 노략한 것과 탈취한 것을 가지고 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지의 진에 이르러 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 이스라엘 자손의 회중에게로 나아오니라
And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 회중의 족장들이 다 진 밖에 나가서 영접하다가
And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.
14모세가 군대의 장관 곧 싸움에서 돌아온 천부장들과 백부장들에게 노하니라
And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15모세가 그들에게 이르되 너희가 여자들을 다 살려두었느냐
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
16보라 이들이 발람의 꾀를 좇아 이스라엘 자손으로 브올의 사건에 여호와 앞에 범죄케 하여 여호와의 회중에 염병이 일어나게 하였느니라
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Jehovah.
17그러므로 아이들 중에 남자는 다 죽이고 남자와 동침하여 사내를 안 여자는 다 죽이고
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18남자와 동침하지 아니하여 사내를 알지 못하는 여자들은 다 너희를 위하여 살려둘 것이니라
But all the women-children, that have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19너희는 칠 일 동안 진 밖에 주둔하라 무릇 살인자나 죽임을 당한 시체를 만진 자나 제삼일과 제칠일에 몸을 깨끗케 하고 너희의 포로도 깨끗케 할 것이며
And encamp ye without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, ye and your captives.
20무릇 의복과 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것과 무릇 염소털로 만든 것과 무릇 나무로 만든 것을 다 깨끗케 할지니라
And as to every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats' `hair', and all things made of wood, ye shall purify yourselves.
21제사장 엘르아살이 싸움에 나갔던 군인들에게 이르되 이는 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 법률이니라
And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war that went to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses:
22금, 은, 동, 철과 상납과 납의
howbeit the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23무릇 불에 견딜 만한 물건은 불을 지나게 하라 그리하면 깨끗하려니와 오히려 정결케 하는 물로 그것을 깨끗케 할 것이며 무릇 불에 견디지 못할 모든 것은 물을 지나게 할 것이니라
everything that may abide the fire, ye shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make to go through the water.
24너희는 제칠일에 옷을 빨아서 깨끗케 한 후에 진에 들어올지니라
And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
25여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
26너는 제사장 엘르아살과 회중의 족장들을 더불어 이 탈취한 사람과 짐승을 계수하고
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers' `houses' of the congregation;
27그 얻은 물건을 반분하여 그 절반은 싸움에 나갔던 군인들에게 주고 절반은 회중에게 주고
and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war, that went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28싸움에 나갔던 군인들로는 사람이나 소나 나귀나 양떼의 오백분지 일을 여호와께 드리게 하되
And levy a tribute unto Jehovah of the men of war that went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, `both' of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the flocks:
29곧 이를 그들의 절반에서 취하여 여호와의 거제로 제사장 엘르아살에게 주고
take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for Jehovah's heave-offering.
30또 이스라엘 자손의 얻은 절반에서는 사람이나 소나 나귀나 양떼나 각종 짐승을 오십분지 일을 취하여 여호와의 성막을 맡은 레위인에게 주라
And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the flocks, `even' of all the cattle, and give them unto the Levites, that keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.
31모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 하니라
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah commanded Moses.
32그 탈취물 곧 군인들의 다른 탈취물 외에 양이 육십칠만 오천이요
Now the prey, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,
33소가 칠만 이천이요
and threescore and twelve thousand oxen,
34나귀가 육만 일천이요
and threescore and one thousand asses,
35사람은 남자와 동침하지 아니하여서 사내를 알지 못하는 여자가 도합 삼만 이천이니
and thirty and two thousand persons in all, of the women that had not known man by lying with him.
36그 절반 곧 싸움에 나갔던 자들의 소유가 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백이라
And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep:
37여호와께 세로 드린 양이 육백칠십오요
and Jehovah's tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.
38소가 삼만 육천이라 그 중에서 여호와께 세로 드린 것이 칠십이 두요
And the oxen were thirty and six thousand; of which Jehovah's tribute was threescore and twelve.
39나귀가 삼만 오백이라 그 중에서 여호와께 세로 드린 것이 육십일이요
And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which Jehovah's tribute was threescore and one.
40사람이 일만 육천이라 그 중에서 여호와께 세로 드린 자가 삼십이 명이니
And the persons were sixteen thousand; of whom Jehovah's tribute was thirty and two persons.
41여호와께 거제의 세로 드린 것을 모세가 제사장 엘르아살에게 주었으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명하심과 같았더라
And Moses gave the tribute, which was Jehovah's heave-offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
42모세가 싸움에 나갔던 자에게서 나누어 취하여 이스라엘 자손에게 준 절반
And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided off from the men that warred,
43곧 회중의 얻은 절반은 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백이요
(now the congregation's half was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred sheep,
44소가 삼만 육천이요
and thirty and six thousand oxen,
45나귀가 삼만 오백이요
and thirty thousand and five hundred asses,
46사람이 일만 육천이라
and sixteen thousand persons),
47이스라엘 자손의 그 절반에서 모세가 사람이나 짐승의 오십분지 일을 취하여 여호와의 장막을 맡은 레위인에게 주었으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명하심과 같았더라
even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, that kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah commanded Moses.
48군대의 장관들 곧 천부장과 백부장들이 모세에게 나아와서
And the officers that were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses;
49그에게 고하되 당신의 종들의 영솔한 군인을 계수한즉 우리 중 한 사람도 축나지 아니하였기로
and they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war that are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
50우리 각 사람의 얻은바 금 패물 곧 발목고리, 손목고리, 인장반지, 귀고리, 팔고리들을 여호와의 예물로 우리의 생명을 위하여 여호와 앞에 속죄하려고 가져왔나이다
And we have brought Jehovah's oblation, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, ankle-chains, and bracelets, signet-rings, ear-rings, and armlets, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.
51모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 그들에게서 그 금으로 만든 모든 패물을 취한즉
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.
52천부장과 백부장들이 여호와께 드린 거제의 금의 도합이 일만 육천칠백오십 세겔이니
And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered up to Jehovah, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
53군인들이 각기 자기를 위하여 탈취한 것이라
(`For' the men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.)
54모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 천부장과 백부장들에게서 금을 취하여 회막에 드려서 여호와 앞에 이스라엘 자손의 기념을 삼았더라
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, for a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
